Does anyone with firsthand knowledge of this have any feedback they can offer? It would be bedroom sound only. Does it have a wide enough soundstage to cover a fairly large room? We're talking probably 17x18 plus a hall to the door, a walk in closet that is probably 6x10, and a master bath. I currently have an older VSB-200 Vizio sound bar with an old Aiwa powered sub that I had laying around. It does....okay, I guess. That sound bar has two 3" full range drivers and a tweeter on each side. I'm just skeptical if this will have enough oomph to fill my room. I'm aware of that whole "no replacement for displacement" adage and wonder if it applies here. The Vizio can fill the room, but it requires a 6/10 volume setting.

I'm kind of talking myself out of considering this. But darnit, I've heard it and I like how it sounds, and I like the feature set, I'm just concerned that it won't have enough power to really give me significantly better sound than I already have. I hope that makes sense.

it's pretty loud Wink for a basic set on a budget ! and it should be fine for your room Smilie why are you considering hallway, mbath and closet as part of your coverage area ?! Rock

This set is interesting. And seems to review very well. I promised i'd never buy another Polk Audio set after buying the $150 Magnifi one deal. Has any real people had any first hand experience with this set. CNet review claimed it was one of the best sets in the $300 range. Let alone at $180. Anyone think it would be at all comparable to the LG SJ8 in sound quality? That's the one I've been waiting for but there have been no deals in awhile,,,

Loud is one thing. But how is the actual sound quality? The problem with my Polk Magnifi one set is the lack of highs and mids. Bass and loudness is great, but very poor for music or soundtrack heavy entertainment.

Thanks for the reply, Cookie. Also, I love that you rock out on every post. It cracks me up every time I see you post. The reason I'm considering these rooms and hallways (the hallway goes to a landing and other rooms, so can't be closed off) is that my wife typically doesn't close the doors. So obviously there will more space to fill. Add in that this thing has drivers essentially on the sides and it concerns me that the lack of close wall to bounce the sound off of will create an uneven sound stage. Hope that helps answer your question, and thanks again for the reply. I have listened to these before and I really did think it was quite remarkable given its size, just wondered if anyone had any first hand feedback on the sound quality in a largerish room. 😎

I have this and I believe it's perfect for a bedroom or medium sized living room. The midrange for dialogue is its strength. It's got a sub for some rumble and can be satisfying when turned up for a movie. But, I think it shines when you're watching at medium volume and want fullness from dialogue, without having to crank up the volume (like typical sound bars). Great value at $180.

I don't understand why anyone would buy this over the cheaper and superior new vizio sb3621-e8 system. cnet says the vizio is the best budget system for under $300 and gives it 5 stars, the only soundbar to ever receive this rating. it's $139-$149 everyday. I have the vizio and had the polk, but sold it on Craig's after a month. it was weak in the mids and highs and the soundstage was minuscule compared to the vizio 2.1. in addition adorama blows, so really surprised this is getting any traction. must be polk fanboys who have never demoed the vizio sb3621. I picked up the vizio from the costco deals few weeks ago for $119 and couldn't be more pleased. Outstanding for music and movies

I've had this one a while and on certain channels the voices will go out of sync after watching for a few minutes and the sound levels change a lot with commercials and from channel to channel. I would not buy it again.

I heart my magnifi mini. It has replaced my onyx studio for music, and Google cast works seemlessly. The bass really bumps, particularly the low bass, and im never futzing around with the sound in action scenes vs dialogue scenes.

Congrats, I read your comment and it was so convincing that I ended up buying a sb3621-e8.
