144Hz and HDR around the corner that will probably cost 2.5-3x of this, but I'm holding on to hope that it doesn't.

Surprisingly, the price of the 1440p version is not going down. I don't have the hardware to drive a 4K monitor. It's the same price as the 4K monitor!

With the drop in 4K monitor price I am hoping the 1440p drops down soon. I almost bought the Dell 27" gsync monitor last month. But figured I might as well wait for black Friday deals to see if the IPS panel goes down in price.

My thoughts exactly. Even a 1080Ti isn't going to be able to push 4K past 60fps. The 1440p version has dropped in price on Amazon to $699 and the AOC Agon dropped to $550 recently though it's $599 now. I'd buy the 1440p Predator for $650 if I had to but I'm really looking for $599 between now and BF.

A 1080ti might not be able to drive many games at 4k 60fps but a high refresh rate let's you decide between high fps 1440p or 4k 60fps which is what attracts me to it. Mass effect I go 4k 60fps and Pubg I use 1440p for higher frames. Right now with current 4k monitors you don't get that ability. That's what attracts me to the new ones on the horizon. Not trying to run 100fps at 4k.
