Resolved: Pop up / redirect ad when viewing thread

505 30 October 5, 2017 at 08:28 AM
I was browsing this thread

https://slickdeals.net/f/10624652-roku-premiere-4k-ultra-hd-streaming-media-player-4620r-2016-model-40-walmart-b-m-availability-may-vary

From the front SD page. As soon as I got to that thread, my iPhone (Safari) was redirected to a page with an ad (scam) regarding Google giving away prizes. The domain name of the page was dubious.
I'm assuming it's an ad on that page forcing some type of redirect, but it's not the first time I've had it happen on SD while browsing on my iPhone.
The domain it redirected to as shown in the Safari URL box was: lp.amazinggiftnowforu (dot) .bid

Hi Thunder,

Thanks for reporting this and providing the URL. We'll block this URL from advertising on the site and look further into it where it came from using our scanning tools. We have only a few top-tier ad partners on mobile, all of which are the best in the industry when it comes to ad safety, so these issues should be extremely rare.

Thanks.

I am seeing trhis as well. I have cleared my browser cache also but still keep seeing this. It has happened at least a dozen times and is annoying. Please remove it.

I'm having the same issue in my post, "SAVE 50% on Loot Crate $7.99", its redirecting to an "Ooops" page.

Please help

Hi woman12. It looks like the issue you're experiencing is a bit different from what was being reported elsewhere in this thread. That said, I do see that links to lootcrate from our site are currently ending at an error page. We're working on resolving the issue but unfortunately I can't give you an ETA. Thanks for the heads up and sorry for any inconvenience.

I'm now getting a fake virus notification ad on Safari now that the Google Prize Ad is gone.

Slickdeals get your shit under control. This is ridiculous.

I am having a similar issue with a pop-up using Chrome for iOS. I have taken a screenshot and posted it here.

Chrome blocks some of them, but some get through. They only show when I'm browsing slickdeals, and they seem to be popping up several times per minute based on the blocked pop up notification from Chrome.
