I'm a very real, long time SD user based in Iowa, as per my post history. This item has nearly 13k Amazon reviews and is one of the top rated scales overall on there. I've been waiting a long time to pull trigger on something to get more accurate MFP readings...some of you guys here need to remove the tin foil hats you got on flash sale at Woot

EDIT: Added a fakespot verif image, because the pundits are lame.

A photo of it weighing parsley was not chosen by accident... Wink

I bought one of these from previous deals to weigh postage, and the measurements are very accurate. Not trash at all, but I guess you can spend more, so you can feel your scale is better quality.

Doesn't look large enough to hold plates and still be able to see the display. Also 2 minute auto off is one feature I can't deal with. I weigh my food and it takes longer than that sometimes to get it together.

Thanks OP - got one. The scale I have is for packages and isn't sensitive enough to pickup on weighing grams etc... seems like a good buy for the kitchen

I have 2 of these scales and have used them for over 3 years without any issue at all.

1. Almost every scale in the $7-9 sale to $10-13 retail range uses the same internal components and circuitry with the exception of the "thin" scales in this price range, which get bad reviews due to poor accuracy.

2. Easy to clean because the front surface is a sealed and flat so can be wiped with a damp cloth easily or sprayed. The weigh surface is removable which is especially useful for a more thorough clean after weighing chicken however you will need to watch where you spray cleaner as this also exposes the internal circuitry.

3. Weigh surface looks like metal in the photo and in-person but is actually plastic. It only feels cheap when you lift it off the scale to clean it.

4. Don't expect extreme sensitivity with these scales. If you pour out 50 grams of chia seeds it'll be accurate to within a few grams. Pour out another 2 grams into the bowl and the scale is unlikely to change. Same thing with measurements in the 0-5 gram range. This wasn't an issue for me since I didn't need that level of accuracy. For this one would need an additional microgram scale or something much more expensive to measure at that level of accuracy across the micro and standard ranges in one device.

5. The major difference between all of them is how the scale displays the measurement: I think this one is: 1.30 lb <==> 1 lb 4.8 oz <==> 20.8 oz <==> 590 grams <==> 0.59 kg . I'm 90% certain the number of significant digits (590 instead of 589.7 grams) is correct but check if this is important to you. I think there is as mL measurement which I thought was silly since this doesn't take into account density of the liquid being measured.

It's also really easy to clean. The front surface is a sealed, flat surface making it easy to clean with a swipe of a damn cloth. The weigh surface is removable which makes cleaning after weighing chicken easier, just watch where you spray cleaning solution with it removed as the electronics are exposed.

Also note the weighing surface looks like metal in the photo and in-person, but it's actually plastic.
Good call out, answered all of my pre-purchase questions. Tried to see if the seller has anything else double-discounted; I think the promo code may be seller wide.

I have this scale, don't put anything even slightly damp on it or the screen will stop working. I opted for one that's $5 more but is sealed so I can put wet things on it and not worry.

I've never had that problem, weird. The ground meat we use for the home-made dog food is wet. laugh out loud

For this price and the fact my other one from 2012 is 5 yrs old, I decided to get this deal....and since my other is chrome and this is black....I'll know which is which. Big Grin

Owned this model for years and it's the best scale out of the three I've tried.
