Still rocking my T60 (8743CTO). My T400 died from lightning hit and I want another Thinkpad, but unfortunately, at this price, this is not it.

I buy my Thinkpads used or refurbished. New is too overpriced.

Don't see any reason to buy this when you can buy a t4x0 for like 1/3 or 1/2 the price.

I'd rather have the 14" x1 thinkpad at this price, but weird how mad everyone is that this exists. There is a market for it.

I agree with you, I had been looking at the Refurb.io but I haven't found one I like at the price I wanted yet. At this point in time, a laptop is a nice to have.

I'm rocking the T60 and an Dell E1705 with a newly replaced WUXGA screen, both on Ubuntu, and they're still pretty useful for what I need (Arduino development, SSH etc).

I am disappointed they went to the Full HD screen route, because I really like the T60 screen ratio and put up with the T400's 1440x900 14.1.screen.

I think they should have waited to build these 25th Anniversary edition, and at least use 8th gen chips.

Maybe I'm just too old school now, but these things are on my radar. The reviews says they don't have the best built, but if any US company can build them at these prices, I'd take a very close look -- especially at the lapbook 12.3

CHUWI LapBook 12.3" Laptop, 2K IPS Retina(2736 x 1824)Display Notebook PC with 2017 Latest 9th Gen Intel Apollo lake N3450 Quad Core Processor, 6GB RAM/64GB ROM, 2.4/5Ghz Dual Band Wi-Fi & Windows 10

CHUWI Lapbook 14.1" Laptop, Full HD(1920x1080) Display Notebook PC with 7th Gen Intel Celeron Quad Core Processor,Ultra Thin Design,4GB RAM/64GB ROM,2.4/5Ghz Wi-Fi and Windows 10 Redstone

What I like to do is zap these and turn them into cheap Ubuntu laptops!

Not sure those are even available for OEMs yet. They will definitely be available for 2018 ultrabooks.

This is for those that:

1) Remember how great a TP keyboard used to be (before everyone went chiclet)

2) Want something that _isnt_any other Thinkpad in recent history.

ARS had a write-up on it today. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2...d-we-love/

With that said, $1899 is alot but its still tempting.
