I own about 120 3D blu-rays, so I am very biased. Having said that, I felt like there were only 3-4 short clips in this entire movie that looked 3D at all. Very disappointing for such a big blockbuster. I'd vouch for the 4K blu-ray over the 3D for that reason.

I assume it's against policy but I imagine if you get a cashier that's not paying attention you can price match and then apply cartwheel?

Yes, they cancel your pick up order while you're standing at the customer service desk and then you just buy it right there and apply the CW discount.
