P55-E1 for $800 is a pretty good price. The 65+ inch models of that series are rated very well everywhere. The 55 inch is almost the same model, except it has an IPS screen. I happened to see it at BestBuy recently, and I think it looks gorgeous.

If you are in the market for a 55" budget TV with 120Hz refresh rate (240Hz "effective" refresh rate) - you can't get much better.

I am personally waiting for a better deal on the TCL 55P607, since I have a lower budget than the Vizio one in this deal.

Frigging incredible TV. I bought the Samsung 6100 at Costco and returned it to get this a week later. Just buy it and return it to Costco if BF has a better deal. This won't disappoint. The picture was twice as good on this side by side the Samsung!

You went from Samsung bottom of the barrel entry level TV to Vizios top of the line TV.

How do you know about the IPS screen on the 55"? I believe you, I'm just getting a TV list ready for Black Friday lol

This is according to rtings.com (http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/...-xled-2017). From the "Differences between Sizes and Variants" section in the rtings review link:

Quote from rtings :
55" (Vizio P55-E1): This size has an IPS panel instead of VA. It will have better color accuracy at an angle, but worse contrast and blacks from in front (in the 1000:1 ballpark).

Thanks, glad it was useful. My honest 2 cents is the difference is negligible for most use. The only place it will matter most is gaming - but then the TCL 66P607 is a much better tv for gaming than Vizio.. so if that is your primary use case, you are better of not going with Vizio any way.

For most folks using it to watch TV serials and movies and sports, the difference will be negligible between IPS and VA
