Great deal. I almost bought these before the 450s were released.

As someone who tried these and returned them I think the Sony MDR-1000x is a better deal at $250 from RazorDogAudio. It's not the newest model but I think the noise cancelling beats these. Also a bit more comfortable.

Code for $100 off is RAZORDOG100

I picked these up when they were on sale for $280 at Fry's. If you don't need the google assistant in the Bose for $100 more these are excellent.

New flagship phones have bluetooth 5.0 (these are 4.2?) but I'm not sure if/what that means for audio devices like this.

Personally, I found the MDR-1000x to be uncomfortable. The PXC550 fit my cranium well. I do agree that the Sony has better ANC, however, the PXC have the edge in sound quality. Additionally, I like that I can plug the USB cable directly into my laptop and listen/charge all at the same time with the 550.
The issues with the Sony headband cracking did not inspire confidence either.

Oh wow. I found the opposite to be true in terms of comfort. The 550 were still just too small even when fully extended. But i'm probably 99 th percentile for head size

That explains it! My cranium is on the smaller side. I could never get the Sonys to fit tightly. Either option is better than Bose.

I purchased the MDR-1000 and these. Returned the sonys. The touch controls work better on the senns, and the audio quality or at least the sound signature is slightly more to my taste, for Bluetooth, this is as good as it gets. I've tried everything, these are the first wireless headphones that actually caused my to stop using all my wannabe audiophile stuff, can't believe I put my o2 amp away, even my westones earphones don't get much love anymore. Also, before i forget, the senns were more comfortable for me, which is a big deal. My ears got really hot with the sonys, really fast, not so with the senns, I've pulled all nighter study sessions and forgot I had them on. In terms of NC, they do well enough for me, but the sonys were better, slightly, it felt like they were all capable of covering up different stuff a little different. All in all, these are worth it, I paid full retail for mine, and the sonys I got for $280 at the time of release, still didn't keep them.
