I had one of these in the house for a little while. Many good things, a few possible drawbacks. The 16 GB hard drive is probably not an issue -- this is a Chromebook after all, and pretty much everything resides on the web. The 4 GB of RAM is crucial, and helps make this machine quite speedy. The display is very good indeed, very bright. Keyboard is good, unremarkable but good. The speakers are surprisingly good. Drawback? Well, it is just a very large machine. Thin enough, not terribly heavy, but really a honking big ol' thing to have in your lap. All told I would say this is a very good $200 value, as long as you want and/or are okay with the size.

Thank you VERY much for your thoughts, pdwalpole!

After using Android phones sine about 2010, your thoughts raise a couple of questions: Regarding 'pretty much everything resides on the web,' my Galaxy Note 4 is configured to save all images and videos to an SD card. Can this Chromebook not be so configured?

Again, thanks!

This is a laggy laptop, only M3, I3 or higher CPU works on Chromebook.

Well, maybe this is a laggy laptop because it isn't actually a laptop. It's a Chromebook. And if the processor it comes with didn't work, don't you think they wouldn't have used it???Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Got this recertified a year ago. It's nice and battery life is good. The cpu is ok with most tasks, at least comparable to windows running i3 or slow i5. I am not sure if N3150 is better. That has 4 cores compare to 2 for 3205. Single thread performance is much better with 3205. Wife uses it to watch youtube mostly and some browsing, the hd screen is pretty good. The main complain is that it's big and heavy.

You can definitely save stuff locally; it's just, the general theory of Chromebooks is that you access your stuff in the cloud. As to the "laggy" comment below, I can only say that for my use, web surfing, writing, watching some videos, it was quite snappy.

Yes, most of the flagship smartphone has more powerful CPU than this one. The sound quality and screen size are great for videos.

Check here for the 32GB version from Costco at the same price:

I've been using a 11.6" Acer C720 Chromebook for 3 years. It is my go to for most of the things I do. These 15.6" units are great. Nice screen, good sound, but a little to heavy for my laptop use. Would be great for the desktop.
