Porter 46 is the largest general carry on. For the guy saying this pack was uncomfortable, you were wearing it wrong.

The porter 46 is the max that airlines allow to be a carryon. Even then for some airlines that's pushing it. I have porter 30 fully packed and it's perfect for most short trips.

Nope, it's a great pack but many places will not let you bring it on a plane

I traveled the world (US, Europe, Asia). This pack sucks! It's extremely uncomfortable because the back side isn't form fitting. It's heavy because the materials and padding is really tough. The side panels do not give in and are rigid. Fully loaded, most airlines won't let you carry it on.

Maybe, depends on how much is packed in it. I regularly bring a 55L pack as a carry on, but its rarely packed to the brim. TSA does not care about size so they will let you through, getting on the plane is up to the airline, they might make you gate check.

Anyone looking for an awesome carry-on bag, check out the eBags Weekend Motherloader. Been all over the world with it and its been a fantastic bag. No issues checking it onto any of the airlines Ive flown, yet it still stores a ton of stuff.

The Porter line has heavy padding on two sides, Farpoint does not.
