Just an FYI: That Costco routinely has these in the $30-$40 range when they run it on sale. Might be better to wait than buying some random one off ebay with almost no return policy.

Is the assumption really that everyone on earth has a Costco membership? Some people live alone or do not buy in bulk, or do not live close enough to a Costco to justify it.

Still got mine from the last deal and it still works like new. Sometimes you just have to put your hand directly over the sensor.

No, but most people at least know someone with a membership card. But either way, these trash cans with sensors just don't generally hold up more than a couple years.

I guess my post was not so much directed at you, but rather to those who thumbs down deals like this because Costco has similar deals. I hear what you are saying.

I actually bought an iTouchless trash can 6 years ago, and I have never had to even replace the batteries. But I live alone, and I do not have kids playing with it. Not sure how this one is situated, but with mine, the battery cover faces down towards the trash, so if the weight of the batteries forces the cover off, it can get lost in the trash and thrown out.

second this. I highly recommend buying anything with motion sensor from your local store.
