Pulled the trigger on this generator, can't beat the price. Been reading around and it seems pretty decent for the price.

Newegg has them in stock for 369.00

Can I use this to power on an electric heater in the winter? Set it up in garage and wire cables to the house

Depends on the size of the heater, and quality/ size of extension cords. Don't run it in your garage, keep it outside.

Thanks. Is there a really better option to warm up a room in the house in the case of power outage in cold winter? We don't even have gas over. Everything depends on the electricity.

I went with a kerosene heater as a back up, and use it in the garage when it's cold. Mine is a Dyna-Glo, works great. Just makes sure you set it on tile or concrete not your carpet!

Kerosene stores longer and is less dangerous than gas. You could also try a buddy heater which usually runs off of propane canisters in various sizes. Hope that helps!
