Sprint has the LG V20 for $270, no contract but you do need to get it activated. You can also find it at this price in store, that's how I purchased it.

I am eligible to upgrade on my free year plan. Seems tax on full price.

Is this eligible in New plan? Did you try to switch the phone and go all the way to checkout?

Yup, both my lines show eligible for upgrade, and I don't have to choose a new plan. I went to checkout but didn't pay.

I don't think I can yet. Something about the 1st of December. Was hoping since this is a buy out right, I could get buy that since I don't want to be tied to a contract

The activation email I received did say I need wait 120 days before upgrade. That's my concern as well. I think I'll wait to be safe.

FYI. This "deal" has been around for a while. I've been keeping my eye on Sprint upgrade deals as I'm long past due an upgrade on a long since expired contract. This isn't even really a "deal" anymore--it's been their base offer for the V20 (at least for upgrades) since the V30 buzz started. I was actually waiting for the V30 release on Friday to see if they improve their V20 offer. The V30+ (exclusive to Sprint--looks pretty sweet) is going to be over $40 a month with a BOGO offer (that doesn't work for me--I have just one line and no need for two phones). And I'm not a smartphone power user so the V30+ is a 'no go' for me at that $40+ or $850 to buy expected rate. But I'm mildly optimistic that maybe they'll improve upgrade offers on the V20. But given it's already a pretty decent price, they may not feel compelled to do it. But since I've waited this long, figured it won't hurt to wait another week to see what happens on Friday or shortly thereafter.

You should also keep an eye on the prices for the US996 version. It supports Sprint as well as other carriers.

I don't think US996 support Band 41(2500 MHz), which can mean slower speed in the urban area.
