Roku (REFURB) Premiere Plus/Premiere+ : $60 / Ultra : $80 - Amazon Prime

For those of us who don't have a Walmart nearby, this may be a decent deal on a refurbished Roku Premiere Plus:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XS33WDQ

The Roku Ultra is also available as a REFURB for $80:

FWIW I noticed that the Roku website no longer shows the Premiere+ in their "Product" listings.

You can still get the premiere+ at Walmart for clearance $40 in stores. Mine had about 15 of them today

Searching for "warranty" in the "Customer questions and answers" section of the Amazon listing I see various replies with the lowest being 30 days. I'm guessing that the lowest is the correct answer. Probably not manufacturer warranty in that case, but actually the standard Amazon return period.

Then again, the listing says "Certified Refurbished" so that implies it was refurbished by Roku, and they state that their refurbs come with a 90 day warranty:

Ya, but that's why I wrote that this might be of interest to those of us who do not have a nearby Walmart. A Walmart B&M deal is useless for me.

You would still be better buying thew brand new 2017 Roku streaming stick that's 4k and HDR for $69.99 surely. It's faster then the premiere + too and a full year warranty

I wanted a wired ethernet interface and only the Premiere+ and the Ultra have that.

Does it require going to a Walmart B&M store? If not, please tell me how. Thanks.

(Replying to myself to update this)

I emailed the question to the vendor and got this reply:

Quote from MailStop (vendor) :
Hello,

The warranty is 90 days and it is provided by Roku, backed by us.

Thank you,

no it doesn't. buy it from any store and do a price protection claim with your credit card (Discover and Citi cards are the most popular that do this). They will send you a check of the price difference. You just need to show them your receipt, credit card statement screen capture and the screen capture of the $30 price from walmart which can be found here [walmart.com]

OK, thanks. I guess that's a YMMV thing. My credit card's price protection terms state:

Quote from Credit Card Price Protection :
Advertisements Not Covered

Advertisements for flea markets, fire sales, limited quantity promotions, seasonal sales or auctions
(Boldface added by me)

And the link you provided states "Limited Stock". The store is also all the way on the other side of the country from me - I'm in NYC - so I don't know if the CC would refuse on that ground also. The stores that are closer, in New Jersey, have it at $64 according to BrickSeek.

I don't want to buy it at full price only to be turned down by the credit card company later. You could say I'm risk averse :-)

Well I know that Discover doesn't care about limited stock or the location of the store, And I believe same with Citi. If you are worried, than don't do it, but it has worked for me several times and I try to buy the actual product from reputable places like Amazon who won't have an issue giving you a refund in case you want to return the item if your credit card claim fails.
