Yes take a look at the sample dates. Choose a date for Miami to Chicago that is prior to your chosen return from Chicago to Miami. Then input into Google flights or Expedia or whatever

How much does it cost to pick seats? I have the AA Citi card which lets me take the carry on and check in bag but says nothing about seat selection. I have an infant and would like to sit all together...TIA

Not sure the specific fees for AA. According to their website it varies by flight/seat. If you attempt to make a booking I'm sure it will ask you at that time. Please let us know here what you learn. Sorry I'm on mobile and in transit or I would myself attempt a booking and get you the answer.

Ok. I tried it and looks I've misunderstood the restrictions. You can't choose a seat yet but your would be able to for a fee within 48 hours of departure. Here is what the AA website says:

"Seat details

You can choose a specific seat within 48 hours of departure, but a fee will apply. Otherwise, seats will be automatically assigned for free when you check in."

Yeah wonder what the fee is. Honestly I wouldnt mind the no bag deal but the ability to not pick your seat puts my family out of this deal. If I was flying solo Id take advantage of this. Thanks for trying!

You're welcome. The only suggestion I would have then is to choose the non-basic economy fare for about $20 more each way. That would allow you to choose your seat ahead of time (but again for a fee). It certainly makes this less hot of a deal (almost doubling the price), but $89 roundtrip isn't terrible Smilie
