Guys. If you want this monitor, stop. Don't buy it here for $499. Buy the 34UB88-P from Newegg for $529, plus code EMCBRBK63 bringing it down to $479.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...-_-Product

What is the difference? Nothing, it's the same display, the 34UB88 and 34UM88C even share the same manual along with the 34UM88. But the 34UB88 is the best model.

http://www.lg.com/us/support-prod...-34UB88-P#

UB refers to business, which comes with a 3 year warranty, compared to the UM models' 1 year. It also uses significantly less power.

From the manual:
34UM88/34UM88C: 70 W typical usage, 56.73 W ENERGY STAR®
34UB88: 47.9 W typical usage, 32.8 W ENERGY STAR®

The C refers to the lack of a Thunderbolt port. The 34UM88C in this deal has no Thunderbolt port, the 34UB88/34UM88 have all the ports of the cheaper MSRP 34UM88C plus two Thunderbolt ports that you can daisy chain, easily use if you have a Mac, and will also add to resale value.

Those are the only differences between these models. Everything else is identical. Don't worry about the -P on all of them, -P just means black models, and -W means white models.

Seriously, get that 34UB88-P. Exact same display, cheaper, longer warranty, more ports, more efficient energy usage.

it's an important spec to know. of course OP had more info in his post, i was pointing out what he was missing, not reposting every bit of information from the original.

Good deal for this monitor. Already own the dell curved version or else I'd buy. Only issue i would say for these is be ware of light bleed.

The store page link says it's 75hz and free sync. It's not 100+, but every little bit helps. You're saying it's wrong?

I guess some people are just never happy. At least he posted. Actually I find more information with his post than your post.

Triple 24" QHD(1440p) monitors equates to roughly two of these side by side (resolution-wise) but can be had for less than the cost of one. Driving them all is another matter, but I've been happy with mine with a 1070.

Certainly doesn't inspire any confidence in the website. I'm using Firefox and getting 75hz and:

Freesync: Yes (DP 48-75Hz)

Has anyone used a 34" curved and uncurved and is there much of a difference?

I have this monitor - bought it last year for $770. Great except that there is slight backlight bleed in the corners. The curve is nice but I would not pay $250 again for it (that was the premium v flat at the time). I play a lot of games and the 60-75 he doesn't bother me. Of course I've never seen a 144hz to compare it to.
