Looks like this is all of the ME2 and ME3 DLC with new story content, except for DLC tied to the Cerberus Network in ME2. (I think Cerberus Network content is free?) There is some other DLC, but it's stuff like weapons and cosmetics; not missing much. Probably worth picking these up, since they rarely go on sale. Hope we see a trilogy remaster in the future. http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/...le_Content

What's the recommendation for someone who has never touched the series? I know the DLC is a real point of frustration for fans but I don't know what my options are at this point...

Mass Effect 2 is probably the best game of the series. You could start there. You'll miss some of the story aspects from ME1, but probably not a big deal.

Start with the first game and work your way through the trilogy. The DLC in 2 and 3 were great! First game DLC was ok, but definitely skipable.

Is it better to get the Xbox One trilogy or get the individual games for backward compatibility?

Edit: apparently there is no Xbox One version, just backwards compatible individual or in trilogy box?

On one side, I got all 3 main games for under 5 bucks from the PS3 sale earlier this year. Would be nice if there was a DLC sale from Sony. On another side, I haven't played any of them yet so I don't know if the DLC is worth it. On one more side, fans of the game hate on EA hard because they say the DLC never goes on sale but...here it is on sale. On the last side, I'd have to spend my own money if Sony had a sale. Using Microsoft Rewards has granted me quite a haul of free gift cards that could be used to get the DLC if I had the games on Xbox. Microsoft didn't follow suit from the Sony sale so, unfortunately, I don't think Sony is gonna follow suit with this one. I hope I'm wrong and the prices for a possilbe sale would be competitive or cheaper. Hoping for cheaper if my research tells me to buy IF there's a competing sale.

I thought DLC in 2 and 3 was pretty good personally. It is overpriced at original cost, but at 50% off its okay. I bought all the DLC 50% off and didn't regret it one bit.

Also Citadel is wonderful. If you only get one DLC for ME3, get that one.

Probably most people know this: It is only on sale if you have XBL Gold. Using a 48 hour XBL Gold trial code doesn't get you access to sale pricing.
