No it is not. You are confusing new 8th Gen processors with 7th Gen or previous generations where all U series processors are dual core, irrespective of whether they are i3, i5 or i7. This 8th Gen Kaby Lake Refresh are Quad Core by default for i5 and i7. This particular processor, even with the 15W TDP limitation, performs better than a Quad Core 45W TDP i5-6300HQ processor, which you normally see in 15.6" gaming laptops.

I just returned my XPS 13. But don't feel too bad. The build quality, keyboard, and screen and weight of the XPS are way way better than the Inspiron line.

I'm holding out for a deal on a XPS 13 with 8th gen.

Could I get the 100 off if I sign up for American Express now?

I think the rebate expired yesterday. It's a shame, because I actually got the American Express deal yesterday, and wanted to buy that desktop deal, but couldn't get my credit card out of my bedroom without waking up guests who were staying over. I figured I could just do it today, but then the rebate expired!

Hopefully they do it again before the 31st, when the American Express deal is over?

Oh man, I would've been all over this if I got the Amex offer. :/. This is exactly what I've been waiting for.

I did too a while ago but bigger battery and better material. If you are into photoshop or intensive CPU tasks, you can get this one. Other than that, you won't see much difference in day to day tasks.
