Which of these would be best value for a garage workshop for moderate amounts and levels of DIY work?

I'm having "that's what she said' overload right now. I can't even think straight.

A Home vise is probably sufficient. If you're trying to bend metal or hold heavy items, then get a larger vise. It is also important to attach the vise to a sturdy foundation. Metal to metal is best, but for diy around the house bolting it to a wooden table or stand is good.

Awesome, thanks for the deal. Picked up 4" home vice for jobs that dont require lifting my 150 Lb 10" bench vice off the floor.

Good question almondtofu Smilie

Hopefully someone who is familiar with and has worked with Vises will be able to answer your question.

Thanks
Just keep in mind that the jaw opening on the 18$ vice is 3" and will only hold pipe up to 1.85"(in the pipe portion). If you plan on grabbing anything larger you'll obviously need a larger size.

Almost all vice owners have thought at one point in time "this won't fit, I wish I bought the larger one". But almost never will you hear someone say, I wish I had the smaller vice. Id spend more and get the 6.5" one. As someone pointed out, the 4 inch one has a smaller usable throat size

At this price I'm not surprised. I'll continue to look for an old USA vice to refurbish for my garage

Best place to get a vice is an estate sale. Pennies on the dollar. And they are made "the old fashioned way" instead of inferior steel/parts.
