This is an excellent Gas Can. I think its lowest price I have ever seen for this gascan. ITs extremely well built and flexible spout is very functional.

Serious question, do these make it "safer" to keep the container in the garage or is this so you can safely refuel engines while still hot? I see something about spark protection.

Right now, I keep my cheap-o plastic 5g jugs (Midwest Model 5600) outside, unprotected, from the elements. Seems like this would just rust out?

Looking for a replacement as the Midwest jugs leak, suck-in, and sometime SPIT fuel when left awhile.

Just get a no spill plastic can. These metal containers are overrated. They'll just rust eventually.

Safety - you cannot safely refuel a hot engine. Unless you are racing for $$ it's not worth a chance. I believe the "safety" aspect is in the spillage prevention and spout. Every blasted plastic "can" I've used has been problematic with the safety spouts, If I have to use one I usually take the spout off and freehand pour.
I've had two of mine sitting outside on my uncovered porch in Northern Virginia since 2009. No rust.

Like I wrote - no rust on these. I do have a metal can of my Grandfathers dating from the 1970's, the paint has flaked off.
Since 2009 I've had 3 plastic "cans" like the Midwest mentioned gradually crack and separate. That's why I'm trying to go to metal.

There are better cans out there but not many for $45.

Save your money and buy a non epa steel tank with a vent made in China.

These fuel cans (without the spout) spew fuel everywhere when they're full since there's no vent.

I usually say buy American but the EPA has messed this one up for us.

Terrible heavy and awkward pouring , pain in the ass to take the funnel on and off. Go with the No Spill can and get the 1 foot ext hose and you can pour with easy with one finger and you have two grip handles. Don't even think about it just do it ( owner of both and the 3 eagle cans never get used , unless I need an extra can otherwise a pain in the ass )

With this specific can I guess since it comes with the built in hose but there's still no vent, my vented can will dump 5gallons in less than 30sec.

I own the regular version without the hose and it's the most worthless can I own.
