What's the difference between this and the 3.5". I know the 2.5" is meant for laptops and notebooks but what's the overall difference?

I believe it's primarily only the size difference. There might be some difference in connectors, and you would need a bracket if you want to install it to the desktop. After all, why not buy a 3.5 if you want to add it to a desktop?

After doing some more research, I decided to go with the 3.5 - it's on sale as well 10% off - $89.99. I went with it mainly because the 2.5 runs at 5400 rpm while the 3.5 runs at the standard 7200 rpm, I figured that in itself would be worth the extra money in the long run.

It is likely a misprint these firecuda drives run @ 6gb/s. Which is 5400rpm. Even the 3.5", it's just misprinted on Amazon. People buy these drives for the 128mb cache which is supposed to store commonly used files for quicker access. It's their SSHD drives. Some people say it's total BS, some will say it does work. Depends what you use it for, I have one in my PS4.

Bought one. This is the lowest price to date on Amazon, and if you're a prime member you get free 1 day shipping.

What's to hate? This is the best reasonably priced upgrade for any PS4. I'm not shelling out $500-$1500 for a 2TB or 4TB SSD.

EDIT: Tried to give OP some rep, but apparently I've already given him some recently. If someone would be so kind as to rep him for me, I'd appreciate it. His current rep count is 14.
