Craftsman 14-Piece Inch and Metric Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set for $44.99 with a Craftsman Club membership (free). Listed as $99.99 regular price.

Seems to be a pretty good deal on two full sets of ratcheting wrenches that are better than Harbor Freight quality.

I was able to use a $5 off $35 coupon to sweeten the deal. There is also a $5 off $50 in tools that you could try if you don't have the other one (with a small tool / filler). I also got a volume discount on this item because I bought a number of other tools at the same time. Final price for me was $40.74 minus another $5 for the coupon = $35.74. I listed it at $44.99 because the other stuff is all YMMV.

Lots of different ways to get free Shipping (or local pickup). Also get $6.74 in SYW points.

been this price for about 4 months, it's pretty much the standard price, it will go up from time to time but always back down to 44.99

so price is actually 44.99 (lower if any coupons) ... not sure why you listed 39.99 since some will have no coupons, better coupons, or worst coupons ....

I had 3 different coupons available to get $5 off this set of wrenches. I'm guessing most SYW members will have at least one of them. If not, then I suppose YMMV.

Serious question, why is this better than
https://m.sears.com/craftsman-20-...946820000P this?

Besides the 4 extra wrenches you get: 1 larger, 1 smaller for both Metric and standard.

20pc includes smaller: 1/4, larger 3/4, 6mm, 18mm so if you need any of those .... its better for that reason alone...

However, many love (Love!) having a single reversible ratcheting wrench which these 14pc sets is, it doesn't state that info anywhere but I have this set and can confirm its reversible so no need to flip, mostly convenience but many like that feature + at the moment you are also saving an extra $15.00 if you don't need the extra four sizes

If you do need the extra 4 wrenches, I would wait for the 59.99 set to drop to 49.99 (add a 10 off) and you are almost getting the same price .... it happens a few times a year + specially around the Holiday's (If i recall correctly last year before BF it dropped to 37.99 iirc)

I don't know that it is. The set you list is definitely more wrenches. They look to be the same quality. The set I listed ends up being $3.21 per wrench ($2.55 if you apply the discount and coupon I was able to use). The one you list is $2.99 per wrench ($2.54 if you assume the same relative discounts I got). Looks to be a good deal if you need that many ratcheting wrenches.

Good catch, I did not notice that. Thanks!

they aren't the same quality. The ones OP posted are reversible by a switch. The ones the other guy posted are not reversible by a switch.

Yes, the big difference is the reversing feature.

Sears should put the word "Reversing" in the title of this item.

Downside to reversing is that the mechanism is more complex, and maybe more likely to fail. If you're going to make something cheap, sometimes simpler is better. But I don't know how the quality is on these.

The other thing that happens when you have this reversing feature is that you can add "offset" as they do on these, where the head is angled at 12 degrees relative to the wrench handle. That usually gives better access. For the non-reversing ones, you have to flip the wrench over to change directions, so an "offset" could not work, so the non-reversing ones are all "flat." (zero degrees offset)

Another benefit to the reversing ones is that when the wrench gets stuck on the nut/bolt, you can flip the direction switch, turn backwards, and the wrench will come un-stuck. You can't do that on the non reversing ones. And there are some other cases like this. But there are some cases where you need thin and flat for clearance issues. So the answer is to just buy every tool you could possibly ever need, like I do.

I think you're confusing features with quality. Maybe shucknet was too? ;-) Just trying to clarify.
This set definitely has more features (reversing, offset). I would guess they have the same quality, but I do not have this set, so it's a guess based on price point.

too expensive, hf price is better . . .

besides, this price is not a sd, considering that it has been this price for many months now.

Harbor Freight does not sell Craftsman wrenches. They don't even sell reversible ratcheting wrenches. So while they do have some of their house brand wrenches at lower prices than this Craftsman set, they are not even close to being comparable.

Was happy to learn they were reversible. Very good value, but they are now showing up for $79.99, so not a great deal any more. Made in China along with iPhones and Buicks!
