This is one of those TV stands that look really bad once dust builds up on it ....

I have a brother that cleans houses for a living so he tells me what to watch out for in terms of furniture haha SmilieSmilie . I have this one (also from walmart) and at the same price. A lot easier to clean/looks good even if you don't clean it ApplauseApplause

This TV stand is extremely heavy duty. This was released over 8 years ago when Plasma TVs were very popular. The reason for 52" restrictions is because plasma tvs would weigh nearly 100lbs+ at those sizes.

Current LED tvs, like my 60" Samsung weigh only 50lbs!!!

This stand should accomdate any tv up to 100lbs...i would put more emphasis on weight limit over the 52" size limit.

Also, this stand cost $300 back in 2010.
