Crap. Why is it I can never remember my filter size when I see these deals?

Seems like a pretty good deal! I may get a couple packs. I already have a bunch of FPV7 but the odor/allergen eliminator seems interesting. Of course, I typically just sprinkle some tea tree oil on the filter every now and then especially when the house stinks from dirty diapers or cooking something that leaves behind a smell Smilie

Are these worth a flip. I also have FPR 7 Honeywell filters on hand. Our house is old and dusty and I change the filter monthly during the heavy use months.

I read several reviews that say that these are poorly constructed and flimsy.

These looked like a good deal until I read the reviews on Amazon saying they were very flimsy I'll have to pass on these.

What does it matter if they're flimsy? Once you stick it in you don't touch it until you're ready to trash it.

The reviews on Amazon say not only are they flimsy but they collapse. Too many brands that are tried and proven to buy one that get's that many bad ratings.

Have you ordered before? Order history? Or just open your furnace and look at what the existing filter size is?

It's FPV6, which apparently translates to MERV9 or MERV10 per this: http://blog.filtersnap.com/merv-v...ive-guide/

Due to the reviews regarding these being poorly constructed, flimsy and that they collapse, I felt compelled to cancel. Don't want to deal with cleaning a potential mess waiting to happen.

There is also this chart which is a bit easier to read:
http://www.airfiltersdelivered.co...pr-ratings

And this one:
http://www.mechreps.com/PDF/Merv_..._Chart.pdf

And this one:
https://www.airfilterusa.com/medi..._Sheet.pdf

For those interested in a HEPA/MERV comparison, note that HEPA is equal to MERV 17-20. However, simply because something is a 'HEPA filter' does not make it ideal for use in your home. This is because the filter rating of a filter tells you nothing about the amount of air flow going through that filter. Most units that claim HEPA filtering also have very low airflow, meaning they can only filter a small volume of air in a given time period. If you want a much cheaper option than a HEPA machine, I recommending checking out the following blog. He has data values for all of his testing and shows the real-world benefits of non-HEPA filtering. I personally have a similar setup with a box fan and an attached MERV 13 filter.
