Eh? Why? "AAA" means it's a big budget game. It's not some kind of indication of recommended player maturity.

AAA actually means that it was backed by a major studio from inception to release, with a national marketing campaign.

In other words, a priority release.

Those of you that are having trouble with the link may want to search in the Play Store yourself. I had to grab it through an incognito window to prevent my phone opening the Google Play to tell me that I own the title already.

So this is interesting. "The Witness", geometry wars, samorost.. a lot of pc games are now made available for mobile. And much cheaper.

My question is they are watered down experience? Since they are cheaper. Also if controllers are made available. Nvidia shield I get.. but for mobile in general it's not mandatory to make controllers a must. I mean if they are cheaper why not buy on mobile? And have portable gaming.. though most will be indies.

The dinosaur in me wants pc gaming and console. But never considered mobile until now. Since I am now seeing games now being recompiled for android. I know the answer is the boring "it depends" on how well developers optimize for the platform but if they adapted to mobile well.. I wouldn't mind opening up and diversifying my gaming options.

Btw I didn't see talos (on iOS) offering controller option but if it did man that would be awesome. Ditto for Apple TV compatible. Thus making the multi-purchase a bit necessary so I could play mobile or traditional.. but for some apps they make it as a supplement rather than a replacement.

Talos was a priority release. It even had a YouTube payola scandal. The studio paid people for reviews.

They generally work pretty well. You get watered down on the textures always, but otherwise the games run great. Doom 3 is rumored to actually run better on the Shield x1 than on console. Borderlands and Borderlands Pre-Sequel are both amazing.

The problem with PC games for android is that people don't buy them.

I use GeForce Now on shield quite a bit. It works great even though I've got 60 ms of ping in my ethernet from the cable box itself. The service isn't really priority to Nvidia--and why would it be, they're close to shitting self-aware machines--but it shows just how close we are to having the smart phone as console. Graphics on GeForce Now are equivalent to a 1080, but they will try to game you by lowering your settings if you don't lock them in the Nvidia Games menu. It's only $8 a month and comes with a slew of AAA titles--albiet the ones everyone already has--included so it's really a no-brainer for me.
