The single most intriguing thing about this deal is the 5 year warranty for $120, with decent warranty language (short, good info) which is worth a read.

I'm looking for a frig now. Does the 5-year extended protection worth it? it's it extended after the manufacturer warranty? Thanks for your input.

Warranty thoughts: Had a whirlpool side by side that I bought off here in 2010 that I have had for some years now and the ice maker broke right outside the warranty and credit card extended warranty. I was able to replace it with a new ice maker I bought off amazon for $60 and had 0 problems with it since. If you didn't want to mess with the ice maker and have to figure itself out, it probably would be worth it to get the extended warranty in some cases. Usually fridges last years and years and am still using my 2001 fridge on the back lanai exposed to moisture constantly in Florida. My thoughts, Usually the seals and paint goes before it breaks down and kicks the bucket.

By the way, we used a couple Frigidaires at work before getting a bigger lunchroom and those produced a ton of ice, enough to supply 50 or so people till roughly Thursday afternoon. The only complaint or issue that they had is that they started rusting under the water/ice drip pan making them look unsightly but this was probably due to many people not cleaning up after filling their cup.

I have this fridge and it keeps stuff cold. I've owned it about 2 years.

Here are the issues I have with it.
1. Original one was shipped on its side and dented the entire side, had it replaced.
2. It is loud, I mean like wake you up in the middle of the night loud. You know when it makes ice because you hear it drop. It's extremely loud. Also, the ice level shut off switch doesn't work very well, so the ice builds up and eventually starts pouring over the sides of the ice container. Then you have the water running through it, which is also very loud.
3. The water filter is expensive to replace. I bought a 3rd party filter which works well.
4. The handle feels cheap and has come off twice. I eventually used loc-tite on the screws that hold it to the door which seems to work.
5. The buttons near the water dispenser are super cheap feeling. You can tell it's a toggle switch behind the button.
6. The light has a separate switch independent from the water switch, meaning the light doesn't come on when you press a cup against the water switch.

The fridge looks nice, but I wish I'd gotten a better one. It's functional, and easy to clean. It also has some features that are helpful with young kids, like the door alarms. I've had no issues with cooling, which is good.

It's probably worth the price, but be prepared that this is not a great fridge.

We've had 2 fridges in this line over a period of 8 years and they've both been really great. The only reason it's been 2 is that we moved and the old one stayed with the house. We bought a slightly updated model for our new home.

I would look for a model where the ice maker is vertical and on the door. I had a lot of problems with the kind that this has.

Why buy coupon? U can make one yourself. Just google it. Lowe's coupon is fairly easy to produce.

Research the model and see if it will work without the water filter. I have a under sink filtration system that I connected to my refrigerator so I just removed the filter in the refrigerator.
