Not bad at all. Not as good as the outlet deal 2 weeks ago with 240GB ssd version and $930 price tag but this is new for $ extra and 128GB SSD. Repped

Only downside is the H170 motherboard which will eliminate the overclocking potential, even with CPU upgrade. I guess because of the small form factor, they don't want overclocking in this machine. Otherwise, it can play almost every games at highest settings at 1440p and good for 4K gaming as well.

How's this for the long run? I know only thing I'll replace is the PSU if it blows out. Thank you!

For gaming, this is way way better. However, for 4K HTPC, you don't need these kind of configuration. A Ryzen 3 1300 or Ryzen 5 1400 + RX 560 will handle any kind of 4K video effortlessly. There are some Dell Inspiron models with such configuration at below $600.

RX 580 is no where near GTX 1080 performance

But for a HTPC, why the hell he needs even a GTX 580? Even the HD 630 in a 7th gen Processor can decode 4K Video with highest quality like HVEC Codec with 10 bit. I suggested Rx 560 for a bit more horse power. HTPC should have components with minimal power consumption since it will be running longer period than a normal gaming or home desktop.

Using this computer from the last outlet deal, it's been solid so far. Swapping out parts is kind of a hassle, but it's quiet even while gaming.

100% agree lol, but he asked which was better, and for an HTPC if he might want to game a little, idk. A gtx 1080 is way better
