What makes the in-wall AP worth more than the now expired AC AP Lite deal?

Basically an easy drop-in to easily scale vs a standalone unit. If your house already has been wired for Ethernet, you can just replace the plate with this and get Ethernet + wifi + pass through PoE for all your rooms.

Makes sense. I guess the other differences of note are that this does not come with a power source, and so requires an active injector, or a POE enabled switch AND this is 2x2 MIMO whereas the AP Lite is not.

AC Lite IS 2x2 MIMO.

Make sure to update firmware in these to patch the WPA2 flaw that's hackable:

Can the PoE pass through be disabled?

Yes, but why would you? It won't power anything that can't use PoE, like if you plug in a desktop.

The UAP-AC-LR is down to $93.xx minus coupon. Not sure if original coupon still works but there is a new one. I chatted this morning and Newegg refunded $6.29 from my order from last night. Smilie
