Atom Tickets [atomtickets.com] is offering Buy One Get One ticket to My Little Pony. Looks like its available at all the major theaters. Discount applied automatically through link.

Note: I got 2 child tickets ($11 each) and 1 Adult ($14 each) and it took off the Adult ticket. So...it doesn't have to apply to lowest ticket item.

Oh, I think My Little Pony is mostly oriented towards the 15+ crowd. You would not want to let a 5 year old see it.

To be honest, I took my 6-yr-old and a friend's 5-yr-old to see it, and the younger kid was quite a bit scared and wanted to leave. The movie's storyline is a lot more evil-monster adventure than much of the series or say the Equestria Girls movies (which are more about teen rivalry). Also the younger kid has not sat through theater movies and not used to the length of the movie experience.

We did manage to make it through the whole movie, but it was a challenge....

So then these are based on the more recent volumes of My Little Pony, where the pink pony gets lured into the crack den, and has to find redemption through clean living? My daughter also found these scary, especially the part where the pink pony arranges to throw the pimp who's riding her and his posse attempts to extract revenge. She also asked a lot of questions about how the blue pony wanted to be a girl.

But like every kid's movie, it has a happy ending. So you can just let your kids know that going in.

Something like that, yeah! Although you gave yourself away that you don't have a daughter, as there are no boy ponies in MLP ;-) , allowing the showrunners to sidestep the whole genre of gender diversity issues ...
