Apple - iPad Pro 12.9-inch (Latest Model) with Wi-Fi + Cellular - 256 GB (Verizon) - Space Gray

says latest model, i assume it's 2017 model?

Best Buy consistently says "latest model" when not the latest model.

Definitely 1st gen. Look at the description where it says A9X chip. It would have been a nice deal though, and still may not be bad as 1st gen.

I wish Apple would use better product designations to avoid this confusion.

Yikes. I was hoping these gen1 would have come way down by now. Is Apple still producing gen1 or is it all old stock? Maybe Black Friday...

I think I'll opt for the gen 2 with the faster chip (30% faster than gen 1) even though more expensive. These iPads bog down over time with new IOS updates and releases, and the faster the chip at purchase time the better IMO.
