Has this been cheaper before? I'm thinking of upgrading my old Y500 (i7/GT 750) so I've been researching a little bit. Mostly checking to see where Lenovo skimped out since mines came with crappy wifi compared to other laptops in that class. This one seems to have it covered.

Oddly enough, however, although single-core performance is right where we'd expect it to be, our multi-core tests revealed a deficiency of over 10 percent as compared to the Y720 (which features the same CPU). For instance, although the Y720—along with every other notebook in our comparison field—scores well above a 700 on this test (737 to be exact), the Y520 only manages a score of 652

With 256GB PCIe SSD, it is the best price you can get. It was $735 before, with the 1TB HDD or 128GB SSD.

I'm sure there will be deals, but no one really knows for sure. I do know that Microsoft and Dell usually have great black Friday door busters. Also I'd think the acer helios may get to around this price (+100, or so) again which would be awesome.

I was able to get this exact configuration back then during the labor day sale for $679 shipped. I used one of the coupon codes here and upgraded the hard drive to a 256gb drive as well for $60.

on another note, can someone recommend a RAM upgrade that is compatible with this laptop? I can't seem to find an official RAM supported list for this model. I have the base 8gb and I am looking to add another 8gb stick.
