I bought a pair of these a while ago and returned them. They are very harsh.

I bought the R-26s last sale... kind of regretting it, definitely a harsh tininess, and very directional tweeters causing dead spots.

Much happier with my other room's Polk floorstanding slickdeal purchases. The only thing these have going for it are the cool copper and better cabinet look.

The Polk Monitor 70 II's have gone for 130-150 several times in the past, I'm sure this black friday will see the same.

Nice warm sound from the 70s for cheap, Monitor 60s have been $100 so I used them as satellites, the center is great but huge, and I paired it with a 12 inch Bic F12, love my upstairs setup more than the downstairs Klipsch, which is the first speaker system I would find "fatiguing" in tininess to risk sounding like a snob, but my wife doesn't like them much either and she DGAF.

There are other polk speaker lines as well that get deep discounts around this time.

I have the Monitor 70's for front's, 40's for rears and CS2 Center. Can't beat the setup for the price (I got in on the 70's for 129 Each I think).

Built the system as the parts went on sale, with a Yamaha receiver and it works great.

Hmm, "very harsh" and "garbage"? Maybe compared to something else at twice the price, but Klipsch is a good brand (not that "good brands" can't and don't put out bad speakers). I've never owned Klipsch, so I'm not a fanboy, but I've always admired the ones I've heard (especially the big folded-horn ones from back in the day).

These are $248.95 each at Amazon, earning 4.5 stars on 28 reviews. [amazon.com] A pair of them with speaker wire and connectors at $449 earned 5 stars on 4 reviews. [amazon.com] And another listing at $498 for the pair got 4.2 on 8. [amazon.com] Say what you will about Amazon reviews and reviewers, but I've usually found them to be pretty accurate.
And Crutchfield [crutchfield.com] has them at 5 stars on 18 reviews.

All that said, some reviews talk about how 'bright' the horn tweeter is, so if you have a room with bare walls, hardwood floor, etc, you may not like them. But with some acoustic treatments on the walls, or a 'softer' room with lots of curtains, carpet, etc, they probably sound fine. Just my 2 cents.

The regular klipsch reference series have a very pop but more harsh sound. Try to get a reference premiere series Klipch and they are very good. I have a set of reference premiere 260Fs and love them.

That is probably why i did not like these either. I have hardwood floors bare walls lower ceilings. These were way to harsh
