Great price, replacement batteries for UPS tend to cost 15-20 bucks anyway, this is great for a small/low power computer, TV, or networking gear. Not enough for more powerful computers, but that's ok.

How long would this power a typical small desktop with no monitor but a few external hard drives? Any guesses ?

No way, pumps draw a lot more power than this can handle and at load this thing only works two minutes.

NO! Sump pumps have a substantial start/run current requirement.

For Reference: Common home device power usage [donrowe.com]

You'd be better off using some car batteries and an automotive battery charger, and use an inverter rated enough for your pump of the backside. Basically it's a large dumb UPS. You're really gonna wanna make sure the inverter can handle the startup draw of the pump. Whatever the max amperage rating is.
