The big problem is 8th gen is out plus this has no future proof in terms of upgrading..

Is this better than previouse Y710 with i5-6400 and GTX 1070 for $790? It's much cheaper and better cpu, RX480 is a bit lower than GTX1070, seems a very click deal!!!!!!!! TO ME, very tempting since was planning on getting a Alienware Alpha R2 with i7. But I'm gonna prolly bite this one instead. $593!!!!

just bought it. thanks OP.

I know I can switch the HHD to an 256GB ssd, but anyone know how to import the windows to the 256GB ssd? Then I can just swap the ssd and use the windows 10. TIA !!!!

dropped to $ 576.27

The box looks cute but I haven't checked any alternatives yet.

The new 4 core i3 Coffee Lake is only $ 120 and that's at 3.6 ghz base but no boost.

Cheap Coffee Lake mobos inbound for early next year.

i also browsed the Lenovo forum, people are complaining that they don't get much support from Lenovo. :/

That would suck but if this was about a hundred cheaper I wouldn't risking it.

My issue with Coffee Lake is the incoming motherboard might be cheap but if the i3 gains quite the popularity, retailers and maybe intel will jack up prices like what they did with the famous Pentium G4560 from $ 69 to 90+.

I should probably consider getting the i3 now.

I have GTX 1050 right now in my failing system. Is a RX 480 better? I'm on a limited budget and looking to replace the system as a whole and wasn't sure on swapping out the cards.

that is the main reason why i hold off and not get this...
8th gen is out, unless we need a new device urgently, or else i'd prefer to wait for a bit..

plus Thanksgiving is coming!! woot woot!

Looks like the 480 is better by a lot.

The RX 480 is drastically better than the GTX 1050.
