This is the lowest recorded price according to the three camels. Highest is a little over twice this, and the next cheapest price currently on Amazon is $29.

Worth a buy if your kids have issues with their controllers running out of charge often when they don't have a charger nearby (you can just replace with AA on-the-go). Also they serve as a more comfortable grip since many find the Joy-Cons too small for most adult hands.

It would add a ton more battery life to the joy cons, which already have a ton but also provides some more grip. Probably better for adults than kids.

These are simply new back covers for the joy cons that add a couple of AA batteries to prolong life. While they make the joycons more comfortable for larger hands these cannot be used while the joycons are docked to the screen.

I bought a pair last sale and haven't used them for this reason.

I recently got a second set of joy-cons. I'm thinking about getting these battery packs so i can keep the second set charged. Since the only OEM option is to charge the joy-cons connected to the screen/console. And, as *behavioral* already mentioned, joy-cons are small for my hands, so the battery packs can help when I use the joy-cons.

you don't need it. these things power the small controllers, which already have a 20 hour battery life. for comparison, the switch itself will only run for about 2.5 hours when playing games like zelda or mario rabbids. it you need to keep playing on the go, just buy a 20,000mah battery pack, which will keep the entire system, along with the joy cons, going for about 12 additional hours.

get a charging dock. these are a pain to put on.
"official" charging dock is $24: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR6JD1M/

unofficial docks are around $10-$15. personally, i use this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074CWRBXL/

if you are willing to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery, you can get a dock on fleabay for as little as $8 http://www.ebay.com/itm/282663612304

Amazon always does this whenever a product sells a lot the prices gradually gets jacked up on it. I have seen them do this to so many slick deals. You better jump on this now when the price is still low before gets jacked up too high
