I'm about to take my second one in a few months back because it randomly will not output any sound when turned on. The only way to get sound is to unplug it from the wall and plug it back in. I ordered a Denon last week from frys. It should be here this Wednesday and then the Costco one goes back

My Onko TX-NR656 took a shit on me the other day. Been hoping for a decent price on something comparable, this seems to be it. Had a $25 off coupon to go with it, which made it $347 after tax. Not bad.

I ordered one last month when they had similar promotion... do a little searching to find the thread for 25$ off 250$ online order to make the deal sweeter....

It is basically Yamaha V583 receiver that is sold outside of Costco.

How good is this receiver? I saw an amazon Yamaha 383 for $250 on SD so someone with more experience would like to help me decide between this or amazon 383? I am leaning towards 5830 but that's just from the perspective of more expensive is better 😆

My plan is to use this receiver in living room with high ceiling and budget for speakers is around $1k

Thanks

Well the 383 doesn't have Atmos as far as I can tell. For $100 more, I would rather have the 5830 with Atmos for future use of it as it's becoming a standard in the Blu-rays coming out for sound.

I bought this at the same price last month. So far I like it it. It sounds better than my Denon X1200 on 3.0

Not to be racist against receivers but they all look the same to me personally.

I had to return as bought from store and associate does not want to reduce $25 coupon, I am ordering this with $25 off now, will replace my old Onkyo 5.1, also ordered polk psw505 as the onkyo does not have powered sub.

Do you guys see any issue with using this with existing 5 onkyo speakers?

It has max power handling 120w and impedance is 6, do you think will burn the speakers with this receiver?
