Real X6S:
AC4000 WIFI—Up to 750+1625+1625 Mbps wireless speed

Costco X6S:
AC3000 WiFi
Band 1: 450 Mbps @2.4GHz
Band 2: 1300 Mbps @5GHz
Band 3: 1300 Mbps @5GHz

Can't believe they are called the same model number yet offer differing wifi speeds, that is so f'd up.

Even if its firmware is patched to prevent KRACK, it would only help if the router was put into client mode (i.e., repeater mode). KRACK isn't an attack on the AP, it's an attack on the client. Your clients (PC, laptop, smartphones, internet of things, etc.) will need to have their OS/firmware/drivers patched.

KRACK exploits how the 4-way handshake in the WPA2 protocol allows for the client to reinstall the private key and resets counters, to account for lost packets, retransmissions. This makes it possible to decrypt traffic coming from the client without needing to know the private key.

Basically, until your client is patched, treat your home WiFi like a public hotspot in the sense that you should encrypt your sensitive traffic by other means (HTTPS, SSH tunnel, trusted VPN, IMAPS, SFTP, etc.) Even if your WiFi encryption is solid, you should still use these other means to protect your packets once they leave your WiFi network and travel across the Internet.

This is recommended as the best "power user" router by the wire cutter, good deal.

This is a good router, i use it currently. I got this on clearance in 2016 from target for $80 during that whole router clearance time. $160 is a good price though for this router

Costco had a $20 off instant coupon last month. I'm hoping they bring it back. I have found the coupon, I used a PC and a Chrome browser to open up Amazon. Didn't work on my iPhone app.
