Good deal on a large Gaming monitor. Best deal I've seen on a large monitor with specs like these.. I'm not a computer expert so please don't poo on the post. Just trying to contribute to the community as I see people all the time comment about wanting a large higher resolution monitor for a moderate price. It also has a VESA mount... lol

I'd give it a whirl if the estimated ship date wasn't January 2018. Looks sweet though.

Thanks. This monitor has crazy good specs and looking at building a Ryzen CAD setup and thought it would be sweet on this! (Waiting on the new intel chips though before deciding). I saw the Samsung monitor post and thought this was better deal for the money. Supposed to go up in price not down based on the commentary I read.

Isn't this pretty much the same Viotek monitor Newegg had for $529 several days ago? Review says the gaming performance of the monitor is pretty good. However the color accuracy is terrible.

Not sure about that deal, but Viotek doesn't list a monitor with this resolution at 35" on their website (that I see). Looks like something closer to the Asus with a 35" panel from the same manufacturer, but with dialed down specs. https://www.theverge.com/2017/5/3...putex-2017. Specs are closer to the Acer referenced in that article. So actually, it may be a version of the Acer Z35P. https://www.theverge.com/circuitb...r-preorder

EDIT: The more and more I look, it does seem to be the same panel as in the Acer Z35P. Great deal.

Thanks for the info. I did some more reading. It's not the same as the Viotek I've seen. The stand on this one looks amazing.

I can't decide if I should get this or wait for a deal on a LG 34CB88/34UC88 which is a much more reputable brand. 75 hz vs 100 hz shouldn't make a whole lot of difference I think.

Since when do VA panels have good gaming performance?

Also, yeah, color accuracy is crap on (P or M)VA compared to a true IPS.

Pixel pitch is pretty sloppy - this is not a very dense panel. For comparison, a Dell Ultrasharp is around 0.25mm.

This is a "you get what you pay for" non-SD. If you're buying this for gaming the ghosting will drive you nuts unless they've made a huge VA panel breakthrough (which I sincerely doubt). This is low-spec or fake spec Chinese junk.

Decided not to get this monitor. Instead I will wait for a good IPS deal. Read multiple reviews say VA response time only looks good on paper. In real life the variance is really high. Even though the lowest response time is lower than IPS, yet the highest is way higher than IPS. What's written on paper is always the lowest. That's why ghosting on VA is really prominent.

So I've been following that thread heavily and commenting in it. Massdrop claims that ghosting in VA is entirely due to firmware and claim to have resolved it. Whether this is true or not I don't know, but I'd lean to no that they've reduced it, but didn't make an industry wide breakthrough.

Even if they have reduced the ghosting (no way they've solved it) with some software mode (which may have other tradeoffs), you still have AT LEAST a crappy loose pixel pitch and bad color accuracy.

Sucker's buy.
