Intresting if true, but seems like such a waste when they could do a classic GBA that plays GB/GBC/GBA games.

Ughh... Nintendo, just release these games on the eShop and recolor Joypad controllers to match console themes.

That would seem like a waste for them, when they could put this out, wait a year or two, and then do the GBA.

Except I don't really see much demand for a gameboy classic. I mean honestly name 5 good games for the original gameboy you'd actually want to play?

Then look at how cheap those games are and the fact that you can already play it easily on a GBC, GBA, etc.

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, Kirby's Dream Land 1/2, Pokémon R/B, Megaman V, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening... Don't sleep on the GB.

They should do a GB/Color version so there are more options for decent games. GBA should get it's own classic version though.

I didn't use a spoiler tag because you just seam to take them for granite. But don't worry old chap, I'm hear to help you. For all intensive purposes, your probably relying on spell check a bit to much. But who knows, maybe this post is a blessing in the skies for other people who make similar mistakes, or maybe it's just a mute point and all for not.

Why play Pokemon R/B when the far superior remakes exist for the GBA?

Touche on the rest, the system DOES have good games, its just at least IMO its nowhere near the NES/SNES in terms of having a robust lineup by itself, especially when compared to the powerhouse that was the Gameboy Advance that had dozens upon dozens of incredible games that have aged much better then the basic GB games.

I don't disagree, but people will buy it anyway for nostalgia purposes. Just hope they would put in a backlight instead of a screen magnifier with overhead light. Also Bluetooth cablelink.

My guess is that a gameboy Classic would be a gameboy Color with a backlight. I'd imagine that, much like how NES/SNES classic system let you change output, you'd be able to choose whether to play it in color or OG grey/green.

Um, Daddio, you sorta missed Tetris, the game that made GameBoy the biggest thing in the world at the time. Also Mario Land 1 (weird, but awesome), Kirby's Pinball Land, DK94, Kid Icarus, Pokemon Pinball & Zelda Oracle series (if GBC is allowed). I'd think Metroid 2 would be included as well -- I like that game much more than OG Metroid, actually. There was a good Dr. Mario port for GB as well.

And despite remakes of R/B/G/S/Gold existing, many people have a soft spot for the originals. You're selling a mini-system based largely on nostalgia. Might as well give the people what they want.

I just wonder how they'd handle the link cable. I assume that they'd allow for a WLAN, but with Nintendo, who really knows?

No. Just no. It's a blight on the Mario series.

Yes to these though. I actually sold my NES Advantage so I could buy Metroid 2 back in the day.

I keep dreaming they actually make a Gameboy style retro emulator linked to there digital store that could run up to snes level of games.

Imagine a library of hundreds of games spanning multiple systems in a portable format.

Sony did that with PSX games on their handhelds and it was great to play classics on the go and worked well for them.
