Klipsch RP-280FA Dolby Atmos Tower Speaker - $696.57 WHILE SUPPLIES LAST - YMMV

I was just in FRYS in San Diego tonight and noticed a number of Klipsch Speakers being on Sale and being marked as Clearance - While Supplies Last. I am willing to bet this means they are getting read to introduce a new model or Frys is simply no longer going to be carrying them.

Is the price for a pair or just for one? There have been a few deals on SD that have these for $1000 for a pair.

When I bought my RF-82IIs on clearance at Amazon they were $400 each, so $350 each for clearance doesn't seem like to much of a stretch.

I thought 'atmos' speakers were ceiling mounted or pedestal (so they are above you -either front, back or both. Why would floor standing front speakers be 'atmos'? Not saying these are not quality. They are. And the price is nice if per pair. Confused by the 'atmos' tag.

Can't any quality front tower speaker be a part of an 'atmos' setup?

RF82IIs are always $229 each @ Frys in-store with coupon code. I beleive this post is for single speaker only just like what it says on Frys website.

These have a separate speaker in the top of them that is up-firing to bounce sound off the ceiling to imitate overhead speakers. Some people say it works as well as standard overhead speakers but their overall effectiveness is highly dependent on your ceiling materials.

Hope that helps.
