Bought one from ebay, absolutely garbage.. The plastic tubes breaks easily and the whole thing fell apart before I even put a TV on it...

Is this sturdy enough to support my 50 inch TV?

Does any know the dimensions of the top setup?
Per Amazon ..
A: All shelves are just over 15.5 inches deep, larger center shelves are 31.5 long. Side sections 15.5 high from the floor center section just over 22.5 high from floor. 13.5 inches between center shelves and 13 inches between side shelves. Just under 8 inches of space between the floor and the bottom center shelf.

If your TV is 40" or less you shouldn't be in the market for an entertainment center.

I agree. My wife had one of these from her college days and it was a piece of crap, thin particle board and plastic support tubing. It looks cheap, and it feels cheap. BUT, for $13 I guess you can't complain, just don't overload it. I definitely wouldn't put an expensive TV on it, you're better off looking on Craigslist for something used but more solid.

I guess if you have a real TV you can wall mount it and just use this for everything else.

Anyone know the size of the cloth drawers? It doesn't say in the listing.

Sounds like it's not too sturdy... If there were nothing on top of the shelves, would a 2yr old be able to shake this thing apart?

Cables would be quite exposed with this setup.
Where can I get the battery powered electronics shown in the stock photo?

Had this for a week before I returned it. Not stable at all on carpet and top board started to bow with my TV on it. Yes, I did gamble and but my 45lb wide base Samsung 51" plasma on it. But regardless, I would not trust it unless you have a light LCD.

I thought it was cheap enough until I could get in the garage and finish the TV stand I am building, not the case!

Might be decent for teens or dorms, but otherwise it's pretty much just pressboard and plastic junk.

Why even risk putting a 50" TV, let alone a 40" on this? I wouldn't.

Thank you for your insightful input, most of us had no way of charting a way forward but you sir, have provided us with wisdom the likes of which we had never witnessed here before. Bravo!

These are ultra cheap. It will hold a 40'' tv, but usually when you try to disassemble and reassemble it, the plastic tubes break because they screw into the wooden plates and they break apart easily because the plastic tubes are so cheap.

It's not very sturdy. Could a 2yo shake it apart?? Who knows, probably not, but I wouldn't bet on that lol. Buy with very, very low expectations and you might not be disappointed.
