That seems to be the case. A single NVIDIA card will work though, for those who were wondering.

SLI has lost any point now. Just go with the fastest GPU you can afford and swap it when next gen comes out if it's beneficial. With DX12 unless each individual game is optimized for SLI it will not even use two cards, only with specific profiles for each game. It's not like with DX11 when it just scaled. That is the reason AMD and Nvidia do not actively advertise SLI and CF, it's a thing of the past mostly.

It's another scam. No games I play use half my gfx card. I should have the fastest setup there is but ubisoft.com too lazy to program games

I'm a newb when it comes to building PC & my buddy is helping me with my first build. How does this compare to the MSI-Z270-PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard?

That's the one he suggested but if this one is comparable I may pick it up with the Save $30 when you bundle with a processor.

Thanks for the input.

Even then at DX11, I don't think it was really ever worth it. Especially people who bought dual, let's say 770 instead of a 780ti. You never got 2x performance. It always was like 150% performance at best, meaning half of one GPU is wasted money.

Huh? This MB has the Z270 chipset for Skylake and Kaby Lake. Sure it doesn't support Coffee Lake but that's been out less than 2 weeks. LGA 1151 is just the CPU socket.

Looking at the specifications for both motherboards, the only difference seems to be the MSI having a DisplayPort output for its integrated graphics. Otherwise they seem to be pretty much equivalent on paper.

I guess you are mistaken it for socket 1150?
