Nintendo SNES Classic @ Walmart In-Store YMMV $79

Just bought an SNES classic console at Walmart this evening (Tuesday). It appears most stores in my area received either 6 or 12 units (zip code 37604). The first store I went to had not put the consoles in the display case yet but the second store I went to had them available. So it may be a good idea to call before going. Good luck!

Wow, that's cheap. Scalpers around here are $200.
Scalpers tend to get desperate quickly. If they see prices dropping, I wouldn't be shocked to see local sellers accepting anything that gets them at least $15 profit (after taxes of course). It's hard to make a profit on ebay, what with $15 shipping, 10% going toward closing fees, and 3% toward paypal...

since they can't keep these things in stock for some stupid reason, i decided ot make my own last week. cost me about $25.

raspberry pi zero W + case $10
micro usb to USB A cables $3
2 USB controllers $6
micro SD card $5

and about an hour of work.
and i don't feel bad about doing it either considering how overpriced the switch hardware i bough it. i paid $70 for the stupid pro controller alone

I bought 3 over the weekend but I looked at ebay and sales have tanked. I really don't think anything can be made after fees. Hell, you may even lose some and have the possibility of getting scammed or chargeback. I put on cl but not even 1 bite. Maybe they'll get returned or offered to friends at cost.
Good, that's how it should be. I dont feel a bit of sympathy for the scalpers.

Download for free. You'll realize once u buy it you'll all play for about an hour and then never touch it again. Old games are just nostalgic. Most people I know can play them for 10 minutes only, then they get bored. Boringgggggg.

Not the same at all. I have plenty of rpis but it's like comparing an RV Winnebago to some dudes van with a mattress and hot plate in it.

The snes is perfect for the 15 mins or so I'm waiting with the kid in the living room while dinner is getting finished up. I use it a lot and 15 mins is about as long as I can handle the difficulty, lol

I must be crazy but I'm pretty sure we got these for $119 back on the original release day. I think the Zelda pack was $129. It's stupid it costs $80 now. Ha but people will buy. I think they've been available at vintage stock for 15 years for like $25 and then jumped up all the sudden a couple years ago. Nostalgia rules!
WTF are you talking about lol

Depends on the game. I recently replayed Zelda Ocarina of Time again. I played it back in 1998 and it was just as much fun this time as the first. Played through some of the early Resident Evil games recently as well.

Not the RPGs. Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy III, Earthbound, you have over 200 hours right there.

SNES and the 16 bit era in general are timeless. It's not like bland NES or Atari games that just repeat over and over for lack of memory capacity or early 3D games that aged poorly and look like trash now. SNES was a treasure trove of deep stories and some of the most unforgettable music and characters in gaming history.

If I was your kid and you made me play Secret of Mana or Final Fantasy III for only 15 minutes at a time, I'd bite YOU.

Those are like 60 hour long epic edge of your seat stories that just never stop.

Warning to the lazy. Brickseek
Showed 12 At my store and the woman behind the electronics counter said they have 0 and got none in last night. Not sure if a memo to hold/hide stock is going out.
None near me but the one by my parents showed 12. They were still sitting in the truck not getting unloaded. They unloaded the 12 from the truck while my sister waited since she was looking for one. So employees may not know they are on the truck?
