To be honest they both suck, but which one is "better" depends on what you need for your viewing. The IPS 850E is better at off-angle viewing, while the MU8000 is better in pretty much every other way. So, get the MU8000 if you don't need wide angles.

However, this is the same cost as the KS8000 was last year, and the KS8000 is superior to this and the MU9000. Except, you're spending superior money for an inferior TV. The first TV to be better than the KS8000 in the Samsung lineup is the Q7, but that's not surprising: the MU is the 2017 equivalent of the 2016 KU, which was also a big downgrade to the 2016 KS. A fair price for this TV would be somewhere around $1,000-1,100.

Good TV, could maybe go lower with Black Friday and cyber Monday coming up? I'll wait a little longer.

$999 would be a fair price for this TV. At $1300 it is a *meh* deal
When on sale, at $1300, Vizio P-Series would be a good option compared to this one

Agree $999 would be a solid deal for this... Still waiting on that 65 - 900e to drop into the sub 1500 range...

Any chance we will see a Q7 around the 12-1500 mark?

65x850E is NOT an IPS panel. The 75" version is, but the 65" is a VA panel.

The 65x900E is comparable to the KS8000, if not better, since it has local dimming.

I have a KS and a MU and the difference between the two has been way overstated. Side by side most couldn't tell the difference. This is a great deal

eBuyUSA has the MU8000 for $1095 (Price in cart):
http://www.ebuyusa.com/prodinfo.phtml?id=3183

And they also have the Q7F for $1259
http://www.ebuyusa.com/prodinfo.phtml?id=3101

But, there are a lot of shady reviews for eBuyUSA

The KS8000 is probably more comparable to the MU9000, but the MU8000 is a nice TV.

I personally prefer the styling/stand of the MU9000, I hate the wide leg stands. Would love to find a 75" MU9000 or Sony X900 for around $2500 on BF.
