Yeah I'd trust a ten dollar helmet...
It's a safety helmet, therefore it is safe.

In the US, all bicycle helmets manufactured after 1999 must meet the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) bicycle helmet standard.

I don't know if it is less concerning or more concerning that this helmet brand decided to clearly list CPSC.

I personally am using a Kali Protectives Chakra Plus [kaliprotectives.com] helmet and like it a lot. Other brands I like are Giro and Specialized. If you're on a budget, go with a Bell or Louis Garneau and you should be fine. Expensive helmets are usually higher-priced because they have more air vents, have a bit more comfort, are more adjustable, or have additional features.

If you are buying more bicycle accessories, check out Nashbar.com [nashbar.com], which I think has the best deals online, especially on certain days and if you check out their clearance and sale sections.

A helmet is basically a molded hunk of Styrofoam with a plastic shell and some straps. It ain't rocket science. But if you think price = safety, you're more than welcome to pay $100 to get a brand name on your Styrofoam.

This. Not saying this is a good or bad helmet (honestly wouldn't know), but to blindly correlate price to quality kind of defeats the purpose of slickdeals.

With amazon's return policy, I feel this is a safe-ish bet... I think that helmet fit is super personal, even more so than shoes. You'd want a helmet that you can talk while strapped in, that stays in place, and doesn't squeeze your temples or be of any discomfort whatosever.

I bought this the last time it was on sale. It is decently comfortable and it feels like it will hold up in a crash, but I didn't go around bashing my head into the wall to test it or anything. LOL. I got the carbon fiber looking one.

You're the only person in this thread who has this helmet. It is your duty and/or destiny to test this helmet and report back to us.

Thanks in advance,
Tofu Vic

One of the pictures has a description that reads... "This nutcase bike helmet is specially designed for adult rider" ...

Are those industry terms or strangely-specific Engrish?
