Well, Dewalt 12v line needs to add a lot of tools.

Any reason to get this over the 18v Dewalt that goes for the same price?

Probably because it's not the same thing. One comes with one drill and the other comes with two.

Yeah, just realized that. Not sure I need an impact driver. How many people actually do?

I have or have been through at least 50 cordless drills, and the dewalt lion 12V is by far my biggest go to. Battery lasts for ever, form factor is perfect, and power is amazing for its size and weight. I have a full set of the lion 20v line and never use them, always use these. I have several scattered around for quick use as the batteries seem to hold a charge forever.

If you are a DIY'er, try it...it's only $100, and it'll change your life. If you hate it (you won't) it Lowe's so you can return it

Look at pics...Impact driver is 2/3 the length of drill, so compact size is one.

That and quick bit change (hex shank drill bits good enough for 80% of my jobs) are the main reasons I use impact driver more.

I have the same set in 20v with a hard case last December for $150. Battery lasts very long time. Not sure how I feel about 12v but it's a Dewalt, can't be that bad right? I use the impact 90% of the time and drill for making holes or installing furniture when I need a low and light speed.

I'd wait til xmas if you can.
