This price is more like it. Really short game only 5 missions. Some of the (optional) contracts are incredibly intricate and are worth investigating, but I will definitely wait for a PC deal to be just a bit cheaper.

I absolutely loved the first one, but haven't yet played D2 or this. How do they compare?

Well if you care about the world story overall then the order is d1-d2-doto

D2 is pretty amazing with the 2 characters/sets of powers and some insane maps (clockwork mansion, time travel map) that will really encourage a few playthroughs. BUT there is no additional challenges/dlc like d1 goty that extended the overall play time.

Honestly for Doto i'd skip it and just watch a youtube playthrough, unless you really want to support the company or want to add it to your library. I didn't care for the story/ending/characters in this one at all, and the few new maps (some are reused dh2 sets) don't justify the price.

This should've been the price of the game from the beginning. I'll pull the trigger when you get down to 15 bucks

Dishonored 2 should not be missed. Developers will study the level design on that game for years to come. It's brilliant.

apparently, I am the opposite on most of these guys. I thought D2 was just ok. I loved D1, but about half way through this game I was feeling like I was just playing to get through it. Maybe it was because of the other games I just finished playing, like Horizon Zero Dawn. But It didn't' keep my attention like the first game did. So I am reluctant to buy this. Maybe a redbox rental?

The story was ok. The aunt of the princess rises up and wants to take power. It just wasn't very creative.

There are some cool powers and very interesting levels. I am not saying I didn't like playing, but it wouldn't be a game I would replay twice unless I just wanted to give it a second chance and play as a different character. But I can't see playing the exact same levels with a different character being all that different.

The other thing is I feel the game can't get you the outcome you want. What I mean by that is, you are basically fighting off a mutiny the whole game. But the more people you kill the worse reputation you have; which is the opposite in what would happen in real life. If someone over-threw our leaders and we fought to get them back, would we be considered ruthless and murderous, or heros? Most people will want to go through and kill the betrayers to the crown and use your awesome powers to do so in cool ways. But in order to have that happy ending you have to sneak and kill as little as possible. Just felt the creators new the way gamers would want to play and made that one the "bad" choice. .

I had D 1 and 2 but never heard of this. Loved them so looks like I'll cough up some coin.

read the amazon feedback, more of an expansion it seems but can be played on it's own. D2 upgrades carry over which is a big deal.

This is a new game entirely. My understanding is if you own Dishonored 2 you will have access some of the special powers from Dishonored 2 in this game in this game.

It's a standalone, you don't need to have Dishonored 2 or have played it. (Though it won't make much sense if you haven't played it or the DLC from the first game.) Storywise, it's a sequel to 2 that takes place a few months later.
