I agree. They remind me of Hi Tecs I've had. Time will tell if they hold up as good, but my initial impression is solid and the price is a fraction.

I've been using them this week hiking in Hawaii. So far they've held up well and they're very comfortable

I'm sure they d be fine for your average hike but I'd definitely wear them around the home a while (doing a lot of walking/hiking on a brand new shoe is never a smart idea )and treat them with waterproofing yourself despite the factory treatment.

Thanks! Debating between these boots and salomon winter boots.

I agree with dplane. I've been wearing these to work which for me is only little walking and breaks them in. With all the rain here, I can attest that they are waterproof but additional treatment never hurts.

I don't want different boots for light snow, winter and rainy season. Is this recommended for all these?

Wait some weeks for a price drop. yesterday I bought a Skechers walking shoes for 9.99dlls, 2 weeks ago, same shoes cost 19.99, And a month ago cost 29.99, same thing with puma shoes, in one month the price drops 14.99 dlls. In September the puma shoes costs like 34.99, And now you can buy it for 19.99.
