Yeah way too expensive for 2 bay. Especially when the TS-451 was on sale 3-5 times this year for $350-$380

Too much for 2xbay and celoron. RAM on these can be upgraded so get 1GB and upgrade yourself to 8GB instead of buying 4GB one.

i got a QNAP TS 451+, (PLUS), not the regular 451, for around $350. it has 4 bays and much more powerful CPU. it has reached that price several times.

this is a rip off. there is no scenario where these units are worth that much money. if they both were $100 cheaper, than maybe i can see a case where they would make sense.

Seeing a lot of TDs. I actually think the 4 bay is a good deal considering it is a x53 line and not the x51.

All 2 bay NAS are garbage imo.

The x53a line has a quad core instead of dual.
Comes with a remote (probably garbage)
Better encryption on the fly
Better at virtualization.

Not the best price ever but still a good price.
To the previous poster about the 350~ price for a 451+, that was a good deal.

I am debating between 453A and 453B. I want to use it mostly for HD movies and home networking and storage needs. I currently have a 6 year old Synology 2 bay unit which is slow.

Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.
