LOL well I find it difficult to enjoy the $4 steak after I indulge in a $50 one but guess what...the $4 steak still tastes pretty damn good. Big Grin

I find it so incredibly difficult to eat Mars chocolate after eating high quality chocolate. I can't even enjoy reese's peanut butter cups. It's like eating wax with sugar and a hint of fake peanut butter. Dove chocolate is good. That's a low cost chocolate that melts in your mouth and actually tastes of quality. I guess Mars makes that and it is probably the only good chocolate they make.

I understand the point you make but the difference is that the $4 steak does taste good, but the low quality mars chocolate doesn't. It really is awful. People for years have said: "American chocolate is horrible" but you really don't understand it until you've had just decent chocolate. The thing is Mars practically has a monopoly. They own most of the candy brands and it's just about making money. They aren't trying to create and outstanding product, just maximize profits by using ingredients that lower your cost of goods. Mars bought out Dove, I guess that makes sense why their chocolate tastes so good and why all of Mar's classic candy bars have the lowest grade chocolate in them. I don't know if its even fair to call it chocolate.

I guess I'd say DO NOT eat decent to high quality chocolate because once you do it is hard to go back to this stuff. But than again the higher grade chocolate is supposedly better for you, if that's even a thing. It's probably like a cigarette company saying: "Our product is better for your health".

Does anyone know of any candy that is semi healthy for you? The only candy bar that comes to mind is PayDay which is like 80% peanuts. I really can't think of any other candy bars that for their volume have that much of a healthy item inside of it intact.
Mars makes pet treats and food as well now. They are really diversifying as the candy business is actually shrinking (people are more health conscious than ever - not good for a company that sells candies and chocolates!)

I don't disagree that quality is not the best but what do you expect for a $2.50 bag?

I've had Dove long ago, it was fine, but like $4 or $5 for a very small tiny package. I'm not sure it was "so much better" that I'd ever be willing to pay 60-75% more for it.

As for candy that is good for you...that's an oxymoron if there ever were one Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Warning, contains Maltodextrin. Don't buy anything with this in it. Proven to cause heart murmurs and other serious side effects. If I eat anything with this in it, my heart starts skipping. It's basically a man made sugar that gets in your blood 10X faster than regular sugar. Companies use it to save money instead of using real sugar.
Would you also have us believe that aspertame causes cancer?
